The Brave One
My sister, Becky, works at a Chinese Medicine College. I went there to get an acupuncture treatment for my insomnia. It was pretty crazy. Here are some photos. It's hard to see the needles since they are so thin. They put one needle inbetween my eyes (to relax me- it worked!), a couple in my arms, legs, feet and knees. My third eye was sore for a couple days, but other than that, it was pretty easy (and weird). Thanks, Becky! I'll be back next time I'm in town.
Note to viewers: If you zoom in on the picture, there is a high likelyhood of seeing many many small, dark hairs on my legs.

Brrrrr
My friend, Laura, has convinced me twice this week that it "is beautiful outside" and that we should get out. One time, it was 32 degrees and the next it was 36.
At the park- we walked there and I about froze my booty off. Laura brought hot chocolate for us (made with whole milk... mmmm) so that was my favorite part.
These next pictures are of Minnehaha Falls. There is only a small part of the falls that is thawed out. It's really big although it's hard to tell from this picture.Calvin with his substitute dad- Isaac (Mado's dad). Eric was at a coffee shop doing some catch up work, so we needed a stand-in. I forgot a hat for myself and had to wear Calvin's. And yes, we don't have jackets on. I believed Laura! (Although the boys had three shirts on and two pairs of pants.)
This is my artsy shot of Laura, Mado and Isaac (we call him Big Isaac). When we were all done, Calvin said, "That wasn't that much fun." It was pretty darn cold and he didn't get to really play at all. My boys are so mistreated.

Edinborough Park
We went to this very cool indoor park today that also has a gym for the kids to run around. Around 10:30, Isaac was obviously tired and chilled in this position for at least 10 minutes.

More Snow
My kids are the dorkiest kids ever. None of these pictures are great.
It snowed a bunch again last night. There's a layer of ice underneath everything, though. I was racing around the front yard, pulling Cal in a sled and I majorly biffed. My legs flew up and I landed on my back. It hurt a lot and I couldn't move (or stop laughing at myself). Cal didn't ask if I was ok. Instead, he laughed and yelled, "Do it again, Mom!"
Yes, that's an old diaper pail in the background. We're trashy.

Fun Always
Here is the pea that I had to blow out of Cal's nose today. And here he is after the incident.
There are two things that are weird about this picture. 1) He's wearing snow pants indoors. 2) He is reading a book all by himself on his back. He never does this. He brings me books and says, "I don't know the words. I need you to read it." Let's hope he starts doing this more often.
We finally got to play outside! It has been so stinking cold but I think it got up to 30 this day.
