Big Boy Bed

Cal is in a big bed now! He's done awesome two nights in a row. Naptime was a little crazy, but it usually is lately. I heard him running around so I went in there. He had moved all of his pillows, extra blankets and a couple books that were lying around to one corner (we were smart enough to put all his toys away). What a crazy kid.

He loves it. We got animal sheets (that our friend Jess found).

The Millers

This is the picture that's going in the church directory. I'm pretty excited about it.
(It's a picture of a picture. That's why it's so blurry. We don't have a scanner.)

Weirdo Ike

I just let Ike scream in his bed for 25 min. straight. I finally went up, rocked him, sang to him and put him in his carseat. I haven't heard a peep out of him since...

Happy Birthday, Grandma Sally! From the whole gang.

Fun with Friends

A couple days ago, we went over to Hannah's house along with Sammy and Jess. We had 5 1/2 kids between the three of us (including the baby in Jess)! The kids played so well together and even had fun outside in the snow. I feel bad since we still haven't taken Cal sledding this year... maybe when Aunt Becky comes again.

Calvino

Cal: Where'd my truck go?
Me: I don't know...
Cal: It must be around here SOMEwhere!

Cal: What's this clothespin's name?
Me: How about... Sonny?
Cal: Nooooo. How about.... Moony?
Then he kept asking me to clip Moony to him.

Silliness and Sleepiness

I had just gotten off the phone with Eric and I said to Cal, "Daddy's hilarious, Cal. Don't you think Daddy's hilarious? That means he's funny."
Cal: Yeah. Daddy's funny.
Me: Is mommy funny, too?
Cal: No.

Ike is finally sleeping flat on his back sometimes! He slept all last night on his back and woke up once to eat. He went down at 7:30, woke up to eat at 8:30, slept until 4:00, ate, and slept again until 7:30. Woohoo!

Trouble Maker

Cal brought his kitchen stool into the foyer and started dumping the coin jar and misc. mug (filled with crap- pens, nails, chapstick, etc.) all over the place. That face he's making is actually a "cheese" (no kidding!).

Crib Drama

Cal has been fighting naps all week. He goofs off in his bed for hours. He throws all of his stuffed animals, blankets and pillow out of his bed, sticks his hand through the bars and yells, "Help, mama! I'm stuck!" and just talks. Yesterday, he started whining/crying and I ignored him thinking he just wanted out. I walked by his room a half hour later and he was still whining. I went in and his leg was stuck inbetween the bars. It took me 10 minutes and a jar of vaseline to get him out! He was crying the whole time. It didn't hurt him when his leg was in there, but it hurt him to try to get him out since his knee was too big.

Ike has been a pain, too. He has been needing constant attention at night. Brad and Sarah babysat him last night and despite my prayers, he kicked it up a notch for them. Thank you, Brarah! We had a great time and are so grateful for your friendship! (You, too, Rods! Thanks for taking Cal!)

Yeah for bedtime battles!

Choo Choo

My train is so much fun! My mom FINALLY put the big one together and it rocks. We don't have all of the different trains up yet since I don't have tons of room, but when my dad finishes the basement, it's on! Thanks Grandma Barb and Grandpa Steve! I love it!

More at MOA

Aunt Becky thought this ride would be no problem. I refused to go on it since I knew I would get sick. She bought a Sierra Mist right afterward!

Cal still can't stop talking about the fun he had at Lego Land. Everyday, he asks if we can go back. Today, I asked him who he went to Lego Land with, and he paused, got a cheesy grin on his face and said, "Aunt Becky."

Love

Cal: Daddy loves Cal.
Me: That's right.
Cal: Mommy loves Cal. Mommy loves Isaac. Cal loves daddy. Daddy loves Mommy?
Me: Yep.
Cal: Cal loves mommy.
Me: Thanks, Cal. Who else do you love?
Cal: Uncle Jason.
Me: That's sweet, Cal.
Cal: And Aunt Stef.
Me: Who else do you love?
Cal: Cookies.

Fun in Snow

Cal, Sammy, Jess and I had fun today. I had to shovel (since Eric was in Arkansas) and Cal rolled around on the hill and on the ground, making snow angels and saying, "Cal need sunglasses." Sammy was a little tentative since he has that Texan blood in him. Jess had to ask me how to put his snowpants on! Ha.

More crazy times (see below for Becky pics)

We bought ourselves a treat at the mall. Becky and I had chocolate covered caramels and
Cal got a chocolate mint dipped oreo. He didn't say a word the whole time he ate it.

Ike's shirt is 6-12 months!

Crazy Becky, Cal and Ronald in front of the McDonald's by the museum.

Cal fell at the museum and bit his lip. It bled and was swollen for the day.

Fun with Aunt Becky

She took Cal to the park while I rested.

Ike and Beck bonding

Cal saying "cheese."

We went to the mall and played at Lego Land!

We also went to the museum. Fun, fun times. (Cal is saying "cheese" again.)

Cuddling, first smile and more

He's throwing up a gang sign (I'm two).

Cal climbed up next to Ike to cuddle (unprompted!).

First smiles caught on camera

More cuddling. Cal has caught on that when he lies down next to Isaac,

I'm sure to take a picture.

Funny Things Cal is Saying

on 1/3/2007

Cal asked me to put a toy away for him. I was getting his lunch ready so I said I couldn't right now, but that he could do it. He said, "I can't. I'm busy." I asked, "Busy doing what?" He said, "Busy hangin' out."

on 1/5/2007

Cal was talking on a play phone saying, "Hello. How are you?"
I asked, "Who are you talking to? Grandma Sally?"
He said, "No."
"Grandma Barb?" I asked.
He said, "Aunt Becky." And a few minutes later, "Talkin' Aunt Becky."

Cheese!

Look what Grandpa Steve and Grandma Barb got me for Christmas! It's still a little big, but I look GOOD. Mom and Dad are hoping I can wear it next winter, too.
Mom took me to the park today since it's been so nice out. We had lots of fun.
