Crazy Cal

Our small group had a picnic on Memorial Day and Cal was hamming it up for the camera. Aunt Lauren saw these photos on facebook and said I should put them on here for you all to, um, enjoy. Hope you do!

That's Ru with Cal. She's over a year younger, but these two get along great.

Number Pooh update

Ike pooped in the toilet yesterday for the first time! We gave him a ton of jelly beans, a sticker, a new toy and lots of praise.

Hoorah!

Isaac update

Isaac has been getting up every night after we put him to bed. He sometimes finds us, sometimes calls for us, but I've even found him playing with legos in the living room. We have had to give him lots of discipline for this and it sometimes takes hours to get him to sleep. But last night, we had a break-through- he didn't get up once! And he stayed in bed until 7am! Praise God.

Also, in case you are wondering, Ike still poops in his underwear or diaper every day. Still no pooping in the toilet. Bah. It's been 4 months.

Isaac at 2 1/2

Isaac gets extremely ornery sometimes. Here's how he likes to upset me.

This morning, I carried him into the park bathroom and he wrapped his legs around me and clung on to my neck. I thought it was so sweet and whispered, "I love you!" into his ear. He literally shook me off. I asked, "Can you say that you love me?" He said back, loudly, "I. don't. love. you."

Just now, I tucked him into bed for his nap. I was rubbing his back and he said, "Don't touch me." I asked, "Can I kiss you on the cheek?" He said, "No," and turned his head away. His arm was sticking out, so I asked, "Can I kiss your elbow?" He said, "Uh uh," without looking at me. I sighed and said, "goodnight, Isaac. I love you."

Preschool Graduation

Although Cal still can't tie his shoes or tell me which hand is his right more than 50% of the time, he graduated from preschool. But not really, since he still has one more year of it left. Weird.

Here he is with his best friend, Sammy. They were both monkeys for the end-of-the-year program.
We are such proud parents. If you watch the video, you will know that the pride is not in his performance.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, we went to a park to fly some dope new kites that I got as a present from the family. Unfortunately, it wasn't windy (but very cold). We met some friends for a picnic dinner. It was relaxing (but very cold).

Church friends

We have a scheduled outing with the church moms twice a month. We went to the zoo last week and a bunch of people came. Ike is on the end (far left) and Cal is five in from the left.

Shoot to score

This is the basketball hoop we (and some friends) bought Atticus for his birthday. His party is tomorrow and we want to bring it assembled. So yeah... we're using it. Sorry, Atticus.

Nasty NeoN shiNN

My extremely tough and masculine husband slid to score on his softball team.
