Bible

Cal and I were listening to one of his CDs in the car. It sang, "The Bible says, 'Obey the Lord.'" Cal said, "Actually, the Bibles don't have mouths."

Ugly?

Cal was having so much fun in the sprinkler today. He stuck his head in the water and ran over to me and Isaac on the blanket. He yelled, "I'm ugly!" I said, "You're not ugly. You're wet." After about the third time of him doing this, he finally responded with "My booty is ugly!" Then he turned around and shook it at me.

Carseat = Gone

Sooo... for those of you that don't know, Ike has been sleeping in his carseat the past seven months. I have tried to get him out of it, but it seemed impossible. He would just scream and scream. He long ago grew out of it for the car, but we still had it in his crib... until today! I went in to check on him since he was yelling, and he scooted right out of it. It had tipped over (forward) and his head was still in it. The good news is that he is now sleeping flat on his back! I think I'm in for a rough night, though. Pray for him (and me), ok?

Weekend With Grandma Sally and Grandpa 'Stache

I'm actually having a hard time remembering this. Mom, was I asleep?

Isaac loves his Johnny Jump-up and loves when people talk to him even more. He's super social.

This is the best picture. Except for the dang TV in the background. I'll have to crop this someday.

Isaac doesn't need the boppy anymore, but since he still falls over once in a while, my mom insisted on it being there. I thought it would be good for him to fall over to learn consequences and to make him tough... whatever.

Isaac got dedicated in church on Sunday. Isaac missed his nap and made a scene, but it was still nice.

Espanol

I was teaching Cal some Spanish in the car today. "Me llamo Calvin" is "My name is Calvin." He was practicing and I asked, "Do you know how to say 'hello'?"
Cal: Hello.
Me: In Spanish.
Cal: In Spanish.
Me: No, I mean do you know how to say 'Hello' in Spanish?
Cal: Me llamo hello.

Turtles

Today while we were eating breakfast:
Cal: I like things that go fast.
Me: Like what?
Cal: Liiiike... turtles. Turtles go fast on bicycles.

Reverent Prayer

Tonight after I prayed, I asked Cal who he wanted to pray for. He said, "mommy." I asked, "What do you want to pray for me?" He said, "umm... for your boogers."

Boys = Fun and crazy times

Cal found the letters in his name and did this himself! He said, "Look, mom! My name!"

I think this expression is hilarious.

I didn't realize that I dressed them alike until after. I'm such an unintentional dork.

Ok. I told Cal that Grandma Sally is coming to visit soon and now everytime he wakes up (from a nap or from the night), he shouts "Grandma Sally is coming today!" So, we made this chart. I told him to pick out a sticker that he thought Grandma would like for her arrival date and he picked two soldiers. Hmmmm..

Cal said, "Look. I'm a koala bear."

We made Monster Cookies (thanks to Sarah for the recipe). Cal was being goofy and I had the hardest time getting a decent picture. I changed the settings to be off of 'red-eye' because he kept blinking. And then when I took the picture again, he blinked on purpose! What a punk. This is him knowing he's outsmarted me.

Calvin is wearing underwear! It's all very new, exciting and messy. But, he's getting better by the hour. Look how proud he is. He doesn't like to wear pants over his underwear and since I have a rule- no going outside unless you're wearing pants- we seem to stay inside way too much.
